Antioxidants as a Safeguard against Disease

Antioxidants as a Safeguard against Disease

What are antioxidants, and how might they positively affect your health?

Antioxidants are molecules that protect the body from the formation of free radicals. Free radicals can cause oxidative stress that leads to cells aging, damage to DNA, and chronic inflammation. Excessive free radicals within the body may lead to diseases like cancer, and heart disease. Antioxidants prevent free radical damage by preventing the formation of radicals, scavenging them, and promoting their decomposition. Antioxidants may provide our bodies with a safeguard against diseases excessively present in our society. Nature provides us with a bounty of  foods rich in antioxidants. Consuming whole foods rich in antioxidants is the best way known to replenish one's bodies' natural supply of antioxidants. Vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts, seeds, herbs, spices and lean meats all are high in antioxidants.

Organic cold pressed juice is an amazing way to get a high concentration of antioxidants into your body! If you are interested, or would like to learn more about antioxidants, we would love to share our resources with you! Connect with us in the comments below, in our DMs, or give us a call.
